Grading System for young Xbacks (size 8 inches /20 cm and below)

Version 1.0 updated May 2002 By William Goh
This grading system is ONLY designed for young xbacks of size 8 inches/20cm and smaller. The smaller the xback developed such important features - colour development on 5th row, little pearls at the dorsal fin area, the more valuable it is. Hence, larger xbacks which has attained good colouration are normally NOT graded in this manner. Thus, it would be very misleading to grade them 'AA' or worse, 'AAA' grades.

This grading system is most often used by Malaysian xback breeders and DFI to grade and price their precious xbacks. The definitions are very clear and specific.

Note: All prices quoted here are only to be used as a guide. Actual price may differ based on supply and demand. Also, the prices here are for young xbacks of 6-8 inches.
